The GMT-Master II tracks a second time zone with an independently adjustable hour hand and a bidirectional 24-hour bezel, a function Rolex originally built for Pan Am pilots in the 1950s and refined into today's GMT-Master II in 1982. The two-tone bezel colorways have become the model's calling card and each has its own nickname: blue-and-red ('Pepsi'), blue-and-black ('Batman'), brown-and-black ('Root Beer'), and black-and-green ('Sprite'). Current cases run 40mm on either an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet, in steel, two-tone, or full gold; the Cerachrom two-color ceramic bezel replaced the older painted aluminum insert in the 2010s.
