How a custom pendant is made
A commissioned pendant moves through four stages before it reaches your hand — consultation, stone sourcing, CAD design, and hand-finishing. This guide walks each of them, then covers the three design directions most pendant commissions fall into.

What Your Custom Pendant Commission Involves
A commissioned pendant moves through four stages before it reaches your hand — consultation, stone sourcing, CAD design, and hand-finishing:
- Stone sourcing — bring your own diamond or a family heirloom for a reset, or we source a GIA-certified natural diamond, an IGI-certified lab-grown diamond, or a colored gemstone to your size, cut, and budget.
- CAD design & render — every custom pendant starts as a 3D render you approve before any metal is cut.
- Setting, metal & chain — bezel, prong, or a fully original setting, built in 14K/18K white, yellow, or rose gold, or platinum, and paired with a chain sized and finished to match.
- Timeline — most pendant commissions run a few weeks from approved design to delivery; we confirm a firm timeline at your consultation, before any work starts.
Working from a Pinterest board, a family heirloom, or a rough sketch, our jewelers translate your idea into CAD and refine it with you in person — see the full custom jewelry process for a stage-by-stage walkthrough of how we design your own pendant alongside you, from first sketch to finished piece.

Custom Diamond & Gold Pendant Designs
Most pendant commissions fall into one of three directions — you can also combine them in a single design:
- Custom diamond pendants — a solitaire, halo, or cluster diamond built into a setting drawn around your stone rather than picked from a catalog.
- Custom gold pendants — sculptural or gemstone-set designs in 14K/18K yellow, white, or rose gold, finished by hand in our Snellville atelier.
- Pendants that carry a name or initial — a bespoke design that works a name or initial into the piece itself, such as a custom diamond name pendant, built as a one-of-a-kind commission rather than a stock item.
Every pendant is commissioned to pair with a chain length and finish you choose, so the whole piece — pendant and chain — reads as one design.
