Rose gold bands with diamonds

White diamonds look bright against a warm pink metal. That contrast is why many people choose rose gold for a diamond band. The stones show up clearly, and the gold gives the ring a softer look than a white metal does.

Two styles are common in rose gold. A pavé band sets many small diamonds close together across the top, so the ring sparkles from edge to edge. An eternity band sets diamonds all the way around the finger. Because it has no plain section, an eternity band cannot be resized. If you want a band with room to change, look at a half-eternity. Its diamonds sit across the top only, and the plain section underneath means it can often be resized.

Wearing rose gold with other metals

Rose gold mixes well with yellow gold and white gold. It is a warm color, so it adds contrast beside cooler metals. Some bands combine two colors in one ring, such as a rose gold center with white gold edges. Others are worn as a pair, with a rose gold band beside a yellow gold or white gold engagement ring. A thin rose gold band can also sit between two other colors and tie them together.

The pink color comes from copper in the alloy itself. It is not a coating, so it does not need re-plating the way rhodium-plated white gold can. Over the years rose gold can pick up a soft patina, and a polish brings back the original color. Polishing is covered by our care plans.
