About

About the Cartier Tank Francaise

Cartier's original Tank launched in 1917, reportedly inspired by the shape of military tanks seen in World War I, and the Tank Francaise, introduced in 1996, is one of the most recognized later versions of that design. It is defined by its rectangular case with rounded corners and an integrated bracelet whose links continue the lines of the case itself, rather than a separate strap. The Tank Francaise has been produced in steel, two-tone, and solid gold, across several case sizes for both men and women, with quartz and automatic movements depending on the reference.

We disclose condition plainly on every Tank Francaise listing: mint, excellent, good or fair, whether it ships with the original box and papers or full set, and any service history we know about. Case size, metal, and movement type are stated on the listing since the Tank Francaise spans multiple generations and sizes.
