About Lab-Grown Diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds — same carbon crystal structure, same hardness (10 on Mohs), same fire and brilliance. They're produced in controlled environments using either HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) or CVD (chemical vapor deposition) over several weeks. The visible difference is price: lab-grown diamonds typically cost 30–70% less than mined diamonds of equivalent grade, allowing buyers to step up significantly in size, color, or clarity at the same budget. Every lab-grown diamond at ATL Luxury Jewelers is laser-inscribed and certified by IGI or GCAL.
About Platinum
Platinum is naturally white, hypoallergenic, and the densest precious metal used in fine jewelry — typically 95% pure (versus gold's 58.3% for 14K or 75% for 18K). It holds diamonds more securely than any gold alloy, never tarnishes, and develops a soft patina over years of wear that many buyers prize. Platinum costs roughly 1.5–2x equivalent 14K white gold but eliminates the rhodium-replating cycle and carries the strongest long-term durability of any setting metal. It is the standard for premium engagement rings and eternity bands.
About Anniversary Bands
An anniversary band is traditionally given to mark a milestone anniversary (10th, 20th, 25th, 50th) — typically set with diamonds in a design coordinated to (or deliberately distinct from) the original wedding band. Modern couples often skip the simple wedding band entirely and choose a diamond eternity or half-eternity as both the wedding band and de facto anniversary band. The physical ring is identical to a wedding band; the distinction is contextual.
