About Peridot
Peridot is yellow-green olivine, prized for its singular lime-green hue. The finest peridots come from Pakistan, Myanmar, and Arizona — and some peridot has even been found in meteorites. Peridot scores 6.5–7 on Mohs (suitable for daily wear with some care) and is the August birthstone and 16th-anniversary gem. It was a favorite of Cleopatra and was historically confused with emerald in ancient royal collections.
