Understanding This Piece
About Garnet
Garnet is a family of related minerals occurring in nearly every color — most commonly deep red (almandine and pyrope) but also bright green (tsavorite), orange (spessartine), and color-changing varieties. Garnet scores 6.5–7.5 on Mohs (durable for daily wear) and has been used in jewelry since ancient Egypt. It's the January birthstone and 2nd-anniversary gem. Red garnet often displays a deeper, more wine-toned red than ruby and offers a meaningful price advantage.
About 14K White Gold
14K white gold mixes 58.3% pure gold with palladium and silver, then receives a rhodium plating that gives it the bright cool-white finish prized for engagement rings and diamond bands. It looks similar to platinum at roughly half the cost. The rhodium plating wears with daily use and typically needs reapplication every 18–24 months — a service we provide free for life on every white gold piece sold at ATL Luxury Jewelers. Underneath the rhodium, 14K white gold has a faint warm undertone.
About Fashion Stud Earrings
Fashion studs go beyond the single-stone classic — incorporating clusters, halos, geometric shapes, animal motifs, sculptural metalwork, or mixed-stone combinations. They sit close to the earlobe like classic studs but bring more visual distinction and design language. Fashion studs are particularly popular for clients who want a daily-wear earring with more presence than a plain solitaire stud.
